It’s Not Right, but It’s the Law

Kept hearing some variation of “it’s the law” regarding the Riggenhouse hearing.  A conservative white kid with an assault rifle shot two unarmed liberals and walked away.
   Wow.
   Mission accomplished.

I’m pretty sure that Ritty’s lawyer said something like “What he did wasn’t right, but he didn’t break any laws.”
   Actually, he did….
Two CNN anchors, Lemon and Cuomo, basically said the same thing as Ritty’s lawyer.  Or maybe my ears were playing tricks on me.  Maybe the same words spoken from different perspectives carry different meanings.
Ritty had a lot of loco-rightwingers funding his defense.
   Completely surprising, I know….

   Wow.
“It’s not right, but it’s the law.”
   Thank you conservative America.

Strange, a very strange hearing from start to finish.

One has to wonder who will pull the next Rittenhouse?
Or did Rittenhouse just pull a Zimmerman?

In each case, the rightwing vigilante's deadly recklessness was somehow lessened, normalized, forgiven and excused by a verdict of innocence.
The victims, conveniently, could never take the stand and recount in detail their moribund tales.

In a very real...yet possibly alarmist way...with Rigggenhouse’s acquittal the rightwing of America has justified murdering anyone they consider a threat.
